Hear how a young Penn State alumnus turned a poor customer experience into an innovative and industry-disrupting business, and revitalized part of his city in the process. With little money and a lot of boot-strap determination, JT Marino and his business partner shocked the business world by engineering a new way to purchase a mattress when they launched Tuft & Needle in 2012. Purchasing a bed-in-a-box might be common today, but the story behind it is a tale of determination, engineering-savvy, a hyper-focus on solving a customer problem, and a desire to make a difference.

Join us for a fireside chat and come prepared with questions for one of America’s most exciting young innovators.

For those attending the Fireside Chat, lunch will be available in Room 134 HUB from 11:30am to 12:00pm.  Doors to the Flex Theater will open at 11:45am.  Program will begin in the Flex Theater at 12:15pm.  No food or beverages are allowed in the Flex Theater.
